See Ya Later!

I got a new student today. His name is Jack.
Last year, Jack had attended a private kindergarten, and he was accustomed to going home at 12 noon.
So, after lunch today, he stood and began packing up his schoolbag.
"Jack," I said. "What are you doing?"
"Oh," he mumbled, "it's time for me to go."
I bent down beside him and explained. "This is first grade, and in first grade we go home a little later."
"Oh," he reassured me. "You can stay if you want to. But I'm going to the house."
"No," I said, "see, in first grade we stay until 3 o'clock."
"What? That's ALL DAY!" Jack yelled and stomped his foot. "Who in the heck signed me up for this pile of MESS?!"
